MoonChild Coven: Our Code of Magical Ethics & Conduct
by Wanderer MoonChild | High Priestess of the MoonChild Coven
At the heart of every coven lies a set of shared values that shape not only our spiritual practice but also the way we live and connect with one another. For the MoonChild Coven, these guiding principles form the foundation of our sacred work, ensuring that we walk the path of magic with integrity, reverence, and balance.
Below, we share the ethics that serve as our compass—rules that keep us accountable, united, and in harmony with both the seen and unseen worlds.
1. The Core Principle: Harm None
The central ethic of our practice is simple yet profound: harm none. All magic, words, and actions are rooted in this principle. We strive to ensure that what we send into the world causes no unnecessary harm to ourselves, to others, to the Earth, or to the unseen realms.
2. Consent in Magic
Magic is a deeply personal act. No spell, ritual, or working is ever performed for another person without their explicit consent, except in rare cases of urgent protection where consent cannot reasonably be obtained. Respecting privacy, spiritual paths, and autonomy is essential to our work.
3. Balance & Responsibility
Every action carries weight. We honor the law of balance—that the energy we send forth returns in kind. Each member of the coven takes responsibility for their intentions and the magic they weave, remembering always that power is sacred and must be exercised with care, integrity, and accountability.
4. Sacred Relationship with Nature
The Earth, her elements, and her creatures are our greatest allies. We take only what is needed, give thanks, and live in ways that honor sustainability and respect for all life. Exploitation, waste, or disrespect of the land has no place in our practice.
✨ 5. Truth & Integrity
Honesty is the foundation of trust. Within and beyond the circle, members speak with truth and act with authenticity. What is shared in circle remains in circle—confidentiality is sacred. Gossip, deceit, and manipulation have no place in our community.
🌈 6. Equality & Inclusion
In the MoonChild Coven, all members are equal before Spirit. We welcome all who walk this path with respect, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, or background. Diversity is not only accepted but celebrated as part of the sacred web of life.
🙏 7. Respect for the Divine in All Forms
The Divine wears many faces, and each deserves honor. Members may work with different gods, ancestors, or spirits, but always with reverence. No one’s connection to the Divine will ever be mocked, diminished, or dismissed.
🌑 8. Shadow & Light
We honor both shadow and light within ourselves. Shadow work is sacred healing, not something to be feared or shamed. However, no member may use shadow practices to manipulate or harm others.
💞 9. Service & Community
Magic is not only for personal growth—it is also for the healing of the greater whole. Members are encouraged to contribute in ways that uplift the community, the Earth, and the Spirit world, whether through acts of service, guidance, or ritual leadership.
🔮 10. Sacred Conduct in Circle
When we gather, we come prepared—mind, heart, and spirit aligned. Ritual space is to be respected. Intoxicants are not permitted unless they are sacred plant medicines agreed upon by the coven. All tools, altars, and sacred items, whether communal or personal, must always be treated with reverence.
🌟 Closing Words
As witches of the MoonChild Coven, we walk this path with reverence for the unseen, love for the Earth, and respect for one another. These ethics are not rules to restrict us, but a compass to guide us—ensuring that the magic we weave is always aligned with truth, balance, and service.
